This is the story
of the venue

This was once the place where the Barneveld barons kept their expensive, exotic plants and trees over the winter. Unfortunately, the original, elegant nineteenth-century greenhouse has been lost. However, in 2005 a new orangery was built on the original foundations in the same authentic Victorian style.

Always a sustainable event

Oranjerie De Schaffelaar retains its historic charm, whilst offering the sustainable comfort of today. The orangery was rebuilt in 2005 to modern sustainability standards. The tall windows let in plenty of natural light, reducing the need for artificial lighting and heating. During your event, we serve products from Dutch food producers. This significantly reduces food miles and CO₂ emissions. And all those local ingredients are, of course, absolutely fresh and full of flavour!
